All services are claimed through Capacity Building Funding under Improved Daily Living. Mary Valley Circus is able to service NDIS participants who are plan-managed or self-managed.

Accesible for everyone

Classes are tailored to the individual and can include a range of activities include a combinations of aerials, acrobatics and manipulation such as hooping and juggling. With our harness and pulley systems, anyone is able to get into the air.

Your first session will be with an occupational therapist who is also a circus trainer. During this 1.5 hour session the therapist will complete an assessment and establish your goals and therapy plan, and then get you doing circus activities.

Yes. You can participate in both ground based and aerial activities.

You'll experience a really individualised experience. The good thing about circus is your can progress at your own pace. There is no competition.

Bring a water bottle, and any personal items you might require.

Insect repellent is handy at night & sunscreen is advised for during the day, but make sure you don't have any sunscreen on your hands and legs or you'll find it hard to grip.

You will need to wear something on your legs if you would like to do aerials, otherwise you will end up with fabric burn (unless you're really tough).

Tights or track pants are appropriate.

Don't wear jeans or anything with big buttons or bits that might get caught in and damage the aerial silks.

For your safety, remove any jewellery before the class begins.

As it is an outdoor rig that you will be training on, bring a jacket or jumper if it's cold.

You must be an NDIS participant and have appropriate funding in your plan in the relevant area to receive a reimbursement from the NDIS.

Within 7 days after the class, you will be sent a Sales Receipt / Tax Invoice meeting the NDIS requirements. You can then submit this to your Plan Manager or via the Portal (for self-managed participants) for reimbursement.

Initial sessions are claimed under the following code; 15_056_0128_1_3 Assessment Recommendation Therapy And/or Training (Incl. AT) - Other Therapy

You will receive an individualised invoice for subsequent sessions with the NDIA codes.

Payment is made at the time of booking via PayPal.

Our administrator will send you a sales receipt / tax invoice with the relevant details to make your NDIS reimbursement claim within 7 days after your class.

This is a great question. There are four main reasons. Firstly, all occupational therapy services require planning and post-service documentation, and as the class is run be a circus trainer who is also an occupational therapist there is significant unpaid work before and after the session. The NDIS also requires invoices in a specific format (which is prepared individually), and the usual PayPay receipt doesn't suffice. Thirdly, our school invests in specific circus equipment including different types of harnesses and rigging systems so that everyone has a chance to take part. This is expensive stuff. Finally, we appreciate that NDIS participants may need more flexibility in times, and with added Monday and Tuesday availability for this service, our circus trainer is pulled out of his usual occupational therapy practice (while still incurring all the usual overheads).

Once you've booked you will receive an email confirming your booking with instructions on how you can cancel or reschedule your booking if need be.
